Adding a temple, deity, event, festival or puja

Devalay’s temples, deities, events, festivals and pujas are added by the community and reviewed by our moderators before anyone else sees them.

Getting started

• On the website, open the Create menu and choose what you’d like to add.
• In the app, open Contributions and start a new entry.

You’ll be taken through a few steps: the name and details, where it is (for a temple or event), dates (for an event or festival), and photos.

Drafts

Your work is saved as you go, so you can stop and come back. Your unfinished entries are under Drafts in Contributions, and you can pick up where you left off.

Photos

Add a banner photo and more photos for the gallery. Photos are checked automatically when you upload them. If a photo is flagged, it’s still saved and you’ll see a note; a moderator looks at it before anything is published.

“This may already exist”

If something similar is already on Devalay, you may see a note pointing to it. Many temples share a name, so this is only a suggestion. Check it, and carry on if yours is different.

Submitting for review

When you’re ready, submit your entry. It moves to Under review, and a moderator approves or rejects it. Nothing is published until it’s approved.

If your entry is rejected

You’ll find it under Rejected in Contributions, with the reason. You can make changes and submit it again.

Removing an entry

You can delete your own entry while it hasn’t been approved yet. Once it’s approved and published, send us a message if something needs to change.
