About Arattupuzha Pooram
Arattupuzha Pooram is a traditional Hindu festival celebrated annually at the Arattupuzha Temple in Kerala, India. The festival, known for its grandeur and cultural significance, attracts thousands of devotees and tourists from around the world. It typically falls in the month of March or April and lasts for seven days. The highlight of the festival is the spectacular procession of 61 caparisoned elephants adorned with traditional ornaments, colorful umbrellas, and ceremonial fans. The rhythmic beats of traditional percussion instruments like chenda and thakil fill the air as the elephants parade through the streets, accompanied by traditional dancers and musicians.
